Boterdorp cogeneration plant (Bergschenhoek - The Netherlands)

The Boterdorp combined heat and power plant in Bergschenhoek provides heating for 1030 homes. Combined heat and power systems are efficient, deriving at least 80% of useful energy from the fossil fuel gas. Energy is thus generated sustainably since the heat released when generating electricity is utilised for the district heating network. Additional boilers have been installed to accommodate peak periods. The heat recovered is stored in a large tank adjacent to the building and is supplied in turn to households early in the morning for space heating and hot water.

Merford Special Doors supplied and installed a louvered wall grill (HNR), for the Eneco heat and power plant, a sound-insulating (AKR) wall grill for the boiler room, a protective ventilation (AIR) grill and transformer doors for the transformer room. Merford also supplied the burglar-resistant entrance doors to the heat and power station, the boiler room and the heat-power coupling room in addition to sound-insulating fire doors for the boiler room, control room and the heat-power coupling room.
